WP 3.8.3 and 3.9 BackUpWordPress 2.6

Manual RUN NOW of database and database + files will backup properly including transfer to Google Drive (paid option).

automatic back up of database completes but spinning wheel remains in GUI

Automatic backup of database only (500kb) will run on schedule including transfer to Google Drive. Email robot sends the file in an email too. It does do the job but still leaves the spinning wheel in the Manage Backups GUI.

Automatic backup of files does not complete

Automatic backup of database + files and/or just files will not complete. Just the spinning wheel for 24+ hours. Cancel the job and RUN NOW manually and the job will complete and transfer to Google Drive with no problem.

Automatic backup of files with our without paid option is not completing and is "stuck" Yes I have tried excluding files to see if it a particular file is causing the hang. Unfortunately there has been no reply to the support ticket

Hi,

I install backupwordpress. Before activation of the plugin, it asks the FTP server password. I don't have it, gasp! Then I just wan't to cancel installation but :

- The plugin doesn't appear in the list of installed plugin, then I can't delete it.

- If I try to install another plugin, it never works : I'm systematically redirected to FTP password asking page of backupwordpress.

- If I use another site's FTP access to try to exit the FTP password asking page, nothing happens after validation (I'm redirected to the homepage of the website)

It sucks, I'm blocked and can't get out of backupwordpress installation process. I don't have FTP access from here to do anything.

Please help ! What can I do ?

The site is Wordpress 3.5.1, I needed to install backupwordpress before making WP and other plugin updates.

Hi,

Just thought I would drop you a quick note to let you know that BackUpWordPress (http://wordpress.org/plugins/backupwordpress/) conflicts with Shopp.

When both are active and a user goes to the Edit Product screen, the following error is displayed:

Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to ShoppUI::addmetabox() must be an instance of string, string given, called in /home/content/r/a/c/racetrack0508/html/wp-content/plugins/shopp/core/ui/products/ui.php on line 59 and defined in /home/content/r/a/c/racetrack0508/html/wp-content/plugins/shopp/core/flow/Admin.php on line 1067

As you can see, around 1:08, when BackUpWordPress is activated, Edit Product produces the error mentioned above. As well, Catalog >> Products will only display one item and the Screen Options tab is not accessible.

I have notified both the Shopp developers and the BackUpWordPress developers of this conflict. I know it's rare, but hopefully you can work together to fix the issue.

In the meantime, I have deactivated BackWordPressUp

though I defined the options for backups as once a week and to store only one backup, I found 3 backup files on my ftp server, created three days one after another. this created a storage problem on my server. does anyone know how to resolve that problem?
in the wp backend, the options seem right though and only one backup is displayed.

Hi,
Is it possible to send the backups only to another server via FTP and not do it on the actual website server? The thing is that on some of my clients website servers, there isn't much space left, so i'd prefer to send the backups only on another server that has a lot of space.
is this possible?

I have a new emergency.

I installed backupwordpress today.

Now, when I try to go to my wedsite: http://www.whyquantumphysicists.com I get this message:

_admin' ); ?>
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE in /home/grekuh1/whyquantumphysicists.com/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/backupwordpress.php on line 308

That's all there is. Just white space and that message.

How can I fix it? ASAP?

I have BACKUPWORDPRESS ver. 2.6.2 installed. The default location for the backup files is \wp-content\backupwordpress-52ce25e2de-backups

From the thread at:

the backup location can be changed to user preferred location. In the wp-config.php file which is located in the root site.

I added the following at the end of wp-config.php

/** Sets up path to the BackupWordpress Backup directory. */
define('HMBKP_path' , 'E:\Backup\TheOfficeWood');

The plugin is still backing up to the default folder.
How can I get it to save the backup files in my alternate folder.

It is able to backup the database, but when I change it to "database and files" the backup does not complete. The sql dump seems to go through, but it hangs at "creating zip file".. it never completes. How long should I wait? How can I get support for this issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm a new user. BackUpWordPress seems to complete and sends an email with attachment to my address. But the backup location wp-content/backups does not exist and if I create it, the backup file is not placed in it. I did find a zip file in wp-content/uploads/backupwordpress-b4f7003c18-backups/. Has the backup location changed or is something failing?

Hi Since updating last night I get the following warnings in every admin page in Wordpress.

Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in D:\Domains\clearprop.co.uk\www\wp-content\plugins\backupwordpress\functions\interface.php on line 106

I guess I need to ask the hosting company for permissions to be set but this was not an issue with previous versions!?

HELP!!
used BackupWordpress to do backups, placing my latest one in Dropbox. Computer crashed, where the soon to be active website is located. Lost all data, had to format HD and redo (Win7-64bit. Now, when I try to restore the files, I first replace the System Files - "includes, admin and content", then, when I try to restore db through PHPmyAdmin, I follow the procedure, but it runs for about 30-50 seconds and then I get a "page can't be displayed" error.
The DB from the backup does not load, what am I missing?
Please help!

Ever since updating to 3.0.3 (which did take away the errors I was getting after the previous update), my Wordfence plugin is giving me this alert:

Warnings:
* Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/backupwordpress.php

I'm guessing it's something to do with the update, not someone hacking my site.

Help? Thanks! :)

Hi,

Backupwordpress is running a second schedule of database and complete backups. There is a second backupwordpress-folder loaded with daily schedules and with names of one of my subdomains.
In the settings there's nothing to find about this schedule. It's also a problem because the site is way too big to do a complete backup.
I think it is since updating to 3.0.2. Now I have 3.0.4 and I have uninstalled everything and do a reinstall. The problem still exists. It looks like the problem described here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/multisite-installation-questions?replies=2

How can we stop this second schedule?

I have installed BackupWordpress version 3.0.4
I have created a schedule make a complete backup (database and files).
This is the block of the schedule: Backup my database and files (1 GB)
After some time i get the next error:
